January 20 2005
Invited speakers are Lars Anell, Elisabeth Dahlin,
Ulf Dinkelspiel, Fredrik Erixon,
Dr Razeen Sally, Cecilia Stegö Chilò and
Martin Wolf.
Is globalisation about to enter a new phase?
In the next 20 years, more than a billion people will effectively join the global economy. What does this imply for the world trading system with all its institutions and overlapping agreements? Will WTO be
able to solve disputes? Or is there a need for new principles and institutions? Does further trade liberalisation require
domestic policy reforms? Will Sweden and other countries traditionally in favour of free trade lead the way to further trade
liberalisation—or is the conflict over trade about to change dramatically?
Welcome to a conference on twenty-first century internationalism and the future of the world trading system!
