Roland Poirier Martinsson is a conservative philosopher and author. He began his academic career at Skurups Folkhögskola, where he studied journalism. Over the years he has written for numerous newspapers, including Kristianstadsbladet, Blekinge Läns Tidning, Tidningen iDAG, Kvällsposten and Svenska Dagbladet. Prior to earning his Ph. D. in theoretical philosophy at Lund University in 2001, with his thesis A Two-Front Battle, Roland studied comparative literature, theoretical philosophy and the history of ideas. He has taught at Swedish and international universities, and teaches occasionally at the Newman Institute in Uppsala, Sweden. Poirier Martinsson is the author of several books, including the bestselling Archimedes, a sociological biography of the Greek mathematician.
